I found this lovely Camas Lily on a hike this weekend. The meadow on the hillside was covered with them. These flowers show the beautiful symmetry of the lily family. The flowers parts are arranged in multiples of three. I think I am so sentimental about the flower because I grew up in a town named after the flower, Camas, Washington. It was a lovely town to live in as a child. Our house was right across from LaCamas Lake. And though the house is torn down now, I still enjoy going back to that part of the state.
